When you're shopping for a Ford F-150, one concern you may have is the bed length. Which one is right--and how can you tell, as you're shopping, which vehicle has the bed-length you're looking for. F-150 Extended/Super Cabs come in both 6.5-foot and 8-foot bed lengths--how can you spot the difference at a glance?
The trick is to look at the gap between the end of the cab and the wheel well. You can see in the green arrow where you should be looking. If the gap is large, the truck has an 8 foot bed. If the gap is small, the truck bed is 6.5 foot. The reason for this is the F-150's wheelbase lengths, which are either 145 inches or 164 inches long.
